OVERVIEW

One of the most innovative in Cusco, the Cuyuni community has a rich cultural heritage that reflects the connection with the land that surrounds the Ausangate snow-capped mountain. In this destination you can perform activities such as ceremony to the Pachamama with coca leaves, flowers and local foods and also discover the Cuyuni weavings which reflects the patience, love and connection of a community with their environment.

ITINERARY

Day 1 Cusco City Tour
  • A.M. Private pick up from the airport and transfer to Cuzco Boutique Hotel.

 

  • P.M. Cusco City Tour: Pick up from hotel to start the tour.

 

  • 1:30 P.M. Start of the tour with a visit to the Cusco Cathedral.

 

  • 2:30 P.M. Guided visit to the Inca temple of Koricancha and the convent of Santo Domingo.

 

  • 3:30 P.M. Guided visit to the archaeological complex of Sacsayhuaman.

 

  • 4:30 P.M. Visit to the archaeological complexes of Qenqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay. History, culture and ancestral architecture!

 

  • 6:30 P.M. Arrival to Cusco city. Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 2 Discover Cuyuni
  • A.M. Pick up from your hotel to start the tour.

 

  • 10:00 A.M. Arrival to the community, where we will receive a warm welcome.

 

  • 10:30 A.M. We will meet to thank the Apus, in an Andean ceremony to bless our activities.

 

  • 11:00 A.M. In the company of dancers and traditional music, we will begin the walk until we reach the community restaurant, to learn about some traditional practices such as plowing the land, while the okukos (monkeys) accompany us dancing, making a colorful and unique dance. During the tour we will appreciate the flora and fauna that surrounds it.

 

  • 11:40 A.M. We will visit a food store used by the Incas and we will observe the agricultural calendar appreciating the process of dehydration of varieties of potatoes such as mullet and olluco, which are the food of the community.

 

  • 1:00 P.M. We will taste a typical Andean lunch, with local and seasonal products, presented in our own culinary fusions.

 

  • 2:00 P.M. Then, we will be able to participate in the demonstration of the elaboration of Cuyuni textiles, made by expert weavers using ancestral techniques.

 

  • 2:30 P.M. We will have free time to rest, enjoy the scenery and buy souvenirs and handicrafts made by the community.

 

  • 3:00 P.M. At the end we will say goodbye to our hosts to return to the city of Cusco.
Day 3 Cusco - Ollantaytambo - Machu Picchu
  • A.M. Pick up from hotel for private transfer from Cuzco to Ollantaytambo train station. The trip takes 1 hour and 40 minutes approx.

 

  • 10:32 A.M. Departure of Expedition Peru Rail Train from Ollantaytambo. The trip lasts 1 hour and 40 minutes approx.

 

  • 12:11 P.M. Arrival to Aguas Calientes. Staff will meet you at the station to drop you off at your hotel.

 

  • Free time to enjoy the thermal baths of Machu Picchu.
    You can also visit the square, sculpture street and other nearby attractions that this cozy town has.

 

  • P.M. Overnight in Machu Picchu town, at the hotel.
Day 4 Machu Picchu Tour
  • 8:40 A.M. Time to board the Consetur bus to the historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu.

 

  • 9:30 A.M. Check-in at the entrance gate and start of the guided tour in Machu Picchu.

 

  • 11:30 A.M. End of guided tour and free time to take pictures.

 

  • 1:00 P.M. Return to Aguas Calientes town by CONSETUR tourist bus.

 

  • Free time for lunch.

 

  • 5:23 P.M. Return by Expedition train to Ollantaytambo.

 

  • 7:02 P.M. Arrival to Ollantaytambo, and private transfer to your hotel in Cusco.

 

  • 9:00 P.M. Arrival to Cusco city and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5 Day off
  • A.M. Free time to enjoy on your own the historic center, San Blas neighborhood, Inka Museum or shopping, and take pictures.

 

  • Transfer to the airport according to your flight itinerary.

 

  • End of our service.

  • Price per person based on double or matrimonial room.
  • Accommodation in a 3 star hotel.
  • The reservation is confirmed with the payment of the 50% of the service maximum 15 days before the trip. The remaining 50% is paid 2 days before the start of the trip.
  • Changes and cancellations are allowed up to 48 hours after making the reservation, after that time the penalties and services that allow changes will be evaluated. Not applicable for last minute reservations.
  • Rates are not valid for holidays in Peru such as: January 1st, May 1st, Maundy Thursday and, Good Friday, July 28th and 29th, November 1st, December 24th, December 25th and December 31st.
